Mission

We’re looking for an exceptional Principal Engineer to shape the future of DoorLoop’s platform and engineering culture across our Tel Aviv-based R&D organization.

In this role, you’ll lead cross-company technical initiatives, define our long-term architecture, and drive strategy across multiple squads - all while staying close to the code. You’ll partner across teams to deliver systems that scale, perform, and move the business forward.

As a hands-on technical leader and pragmatic visionary, you’ll solve our hardest problems, build high-impact solutions, and mentor the next generation of technical leaders. You’ll play a central role in how DoorLoop designs, builds, and ships software - setting the standards for quality, reliability, and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-squad technical initiatives, ensuring scalable architecture and alignment across systems.
• Elevate technical quality through design leadership, tradeoff decisions, and mentoring senior engineers.
• Accelerate time-to-value - reduce cycle time, improve deployment frequency, and increase delivery confidence using DORA metrics as north stars.
• Strengthen reliability - champion observability, incident response, and systemic improvements that enhance resilience and feedback loops.

• 10+ years in backend and infrastructure development
• 5+ years in cloud-native SaaS environments on full-stack teams
• 3+ years as a Principal Engineer or similar role in large-scale systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent• Expert in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and SQL/NoSQL design
• Proven record in designing and scaling microservices and event-driven systems
• Deep experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and cloud architecture
• Strong understanding of message queues and workflows (Kafka, Temporal, BullMQ)
• Drives cross-org technical initiatives and aligns multiple teams
• Business-outcome-driven; connects tech direction to measurable impact
• Experienced mentor and technical leader with excellent communication skills
• Thrives in fast-moving, dynamic environments
• Experience in squad-based structures (Nice to Have)
