Laboratory Engineer / Research Technician

The National Center for High-Temperature Materials Characterization at Ben-Gurion University is expanding, and we are looking for a high-quality, motivated laboratory engineer/technician to join our team and take part in operating Israel’s most advanced materials characterization infrastructure.

• Operation and maintenance of advanced research instruments (thermal analysis, thermophysical properties, etc.).
• Performing experiments, measurement routines, and processing baseline data.
• Responsibility for ordering supplies and ensuring continuous lab functionality.
• Hands-on work with digital tools and scientific software.
• Assisting in the organization of the center’s activities, including student support and laboratory logistics.
• Managing the center’s equipment schedule and ensuring efficient coordination between users.
• Supporting safety procedures and maintaining a high-standard working environment.
• Participation in applied research projects involving advanced materials.

• Academic degree in Materials Engineering / Chemistry / Physics, or related fields.
• Strong technical ability and hands-on aptitude.
• Experience with laboratory work – an advantage.
• Familiarity with thermal analysis techniques (TGA, DSC, DIL, calorimetry) – advantage.
• High-level English (reading/writing/speaking).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with students and researchers.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and take ownership of lab responsibilities.
