We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategically minded News Web Editor to manage and grow a dynamic online news platform covering international affairs, economy, and security.

The ideal candidate combines strong editorial judgment with a deep understanding of digital publishing, SEO, and audience engagement. You will oversee the daily publication cycle, coordinate with writers and analysts, and ensure the website delivers timely, accurate, and engaging content optimized for visibility and reach.

You should be as comfortable editing complex stories as you are using AI and analytics tools to refine performance and guide editorial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, edit, and oversee the daily publication of articles, analyses, and multimedia content.
• Coordinate with contributors, analysts, and visual teams to ensure timely delivery and quality.
• Identify trending topics and emerging narratives relevant to target audiences.
• Develop and execute SEO-focused editorial strategies to boost organic traffic.
• Track analytics (Google Analytics, Search Console, etc.) and generate actionable insights to improve engagement and retention.
• Use AI-assisted tools to support research, editing, and content enhancement.
• Manage publishing workflows through CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress).
• Oversee website layout, formatting, tagging, and technical consistency in collaboration with developers.
• Oversee and manage the social media accounts directly linked to the website
• Create and schedule posts to promote published articles, special features, and key stories.
• Ensure tone, visuals, and messaging are consistent with the website’s editorial line.
• Monitor engagement, comments, and feedback to inform future content strategy.

Requirements

• Native-level English proficiency.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, or a related field.
• Proven knowledge of SEO best practices, digital publishing workflows, and audience analytics.
• Excellent writing, editing skills with strong attention to clarity and detail.
• Hands-on experience with WordPress.
• Familiarity with AI tools for text, image, or video generation.

Bonus Skills

• Experience using Google Analytics, Search Console, and Semrush/Ahrefs.
• Knowledge of visual or multimedia tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Descript).
