The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Counsel to join our team. This is an opportunity to join Eko at a pivotal moment as we enter our scaling phase. With hundreds of customers and millions of users, this is a critical, strategic role that combines hands-on legal work with providing executive leadership with counsel that shapes our direction. You'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our success and grow alongside us. 

What You’ll Do:

Commercial Contracts

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements (SaaS, vendor, partnership, NDAs), with a primary focus on U.S. contracts.
• Develop and maintain scalable contract templates, playbooks, and approval workflows.

Employment & Labor

• Provide legal guidance on employment and labor law matters in Israel and the U.S. (hiring, performance management, terminations, compensation, policies).
• Partner closely with HR on employee relations, internal investigations, and compliance initiatives.

Corporate Governance

• Advise the Board and executive team on governance best practices.
• Draft, review, and maintain corporate records and board resolutions, as well as manage shareholder matters.

Regulatory & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Oversee data privacy policies and regulatory risk assessments (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Intellectual Property

• Manage IP strategy, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and licensing.
• Coordinate with external counsel on IP registration and protection.

Risk Management & Litigation

• Identify legal risks and implement proactive measures to mitigate them.
• Manage litigation, disputes, and relationships with outside counsel.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

• Law degree and an active license to practice in a relevant jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of experience, including both law firm and in-house roles, preferably with a B2B SaaS or e-commerce technology company.
• Demonstrated expertise across multiple legal areas, including Commercial Contracts, Employment Law, and Data Privacy.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage legal matters from strategy to execution.
• Strong business acumen, excellent communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Native English speaker with deep familiarity with American business culture.

• Familiarity with public company readiness or M&A activity
• Understanding of legal operations and the use of legal tech tools
