Senior Release Manager

Check Point’s Release Operation group is responsible for leading, managing and tracking Check Point releases. We are looking for a passionate and professional Release Manager to join our release operation group to lead our main release.

Major Responsibilities

• Be part of the Release operations group, managing and leading Check Point Main releases:
• Managing releases for Enterprise Check Point installed base: responsible for planning, executing, monitoring and reporting status.
• Managing the release schedule from planning phase till GA (release date).
• Coordinating R&D and QA efforts, working with most of PO groups and managers in all levels.
• Responsible for release scope, coordinate projects merge into main train with all relevant R&D & QA stakeholders.
• Responsible for release quality and stabilization on an ongoing basis, tracking the automation results and QA status.
• Working with Tech writers on and leading the release documentation till final approval
• Provide weekly status to all R&D managers including upper management
• Leading weekly release meetings with all R&D & QA owners
• Managing the release risks and raising flags on potential delays and issues and track till final resolution
• Leading cross-PO development activities and new processes such as technology opportunities, infrastructure changes, quality improvements.
• Tracking post release status - issues coming from the field, manage maintenance releases, communication with customers.
• Facilitation and enforcement of development process & tools
• Leading lesson learned / debriefs on issues, tracking till final resolution and implement improvements based on conclusion

Desired Background

• At least 5 years of experience in technical project/program management within the software industry, including 2+ years as a Release Manager.
• Experience in matrix management of multidisciplinary teams including R&D, QA, Tech writers, Management.
• Excellent understanding of Code Development work and QA work.
• Technical abilities and analytical skills.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Independent and Self-directed.
• Working with JIRA - advantage.
• Seeing the whole picture while being able to dig into details.
• Working in agile environment - advantage.
