The Role

You will own the data backbone that powers our VA pipelines. From raw video event streams to curated, versioned datasets and evaluation frameworks, you will design and run the systems that keep research fast, labeling efficient, and product decisions data-driven.

What you will do

• Own and manage the company data warehouse and lakehouse end to end - modeling, governance, cost, performance, and access
• Build robust data pipelines for video-derived events, embeddings, metadata and raw footage - batch and streaming
• Design and implement internal annotation tools and methodologies
• Select, integrate, and operationalize external annotation platforms and services
• Manage annotation operations - SLAs, QA, guidelines, audits
• Benchmark models and research methods
• Define validation processes for production scenarios - precision, recall, drift, data quality checks
• Partner closely with CV and VLM researchers to ship models, datasets, features, and evals on tight cycles
• Instrument data observability - freshness, completeness, and anomaly detection
• Ensure compliance with privacy, retention, and customer data handling requirements

Required skills and experience

• Proficient in Python and SQL with strong software engineering fundamentals
• 5+ years working with analytics and data at scale - pipeline design, testing, and operations
• Hands-on experience with computer vision data and dataset curation
• Practical experience building and using internal and external annotation tools
• Experience collaborating with external annotation services and managing their output quality
• Background in data streaming and event-driven architectures
• Working knowledge of CV concepts like SAM, YOLO, Diffusion models, and CLIP
• Proven track record establishing data validation and evaluation processes for ML

Bonus points

• Experience with Marimo, ClearML, and Kubernetes
• Background in algorithm research or production integration
• GCP data stack experience - BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Vertex
• Familiarity with feature stores, embedding stores, and vector databases
• Experience with Kafka, Flink, or Spark Structured Streaming
• Prior work on dataset governance in regulated or mission-critical environments
