Laboratory Engineer

Ben-Gurion University’s Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences is seeking a skilled Teaching & Research Lab Engineer to support our academic staff, students, and research activities.

In this role, you will operate and maintain advanced analytical equipment, support fieldwork and laboratory experiments, and help drive innovation across new and existing labs.

What you’ll do

• Operate and maintain advanced analytical instruments in teaching and research labs
• Perform routine maintenance and ensure high-quality lab operations
• Conduct analytical work for academic researchers and provide services to internal/external partners
• Provide technical guidance and training to students and faculty
• Support the setup and operation of new labs, experimental systems, and measurement protocols
• Manage procurement of lab equipment, tools, and materials
• Oversee safety practices and compliance
• Perform additional tasks as assigned

What we’re looking for

• M.Sc. degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Hands-on experience operating advanced analytical equipment
• Advantage: background in geo-biology
• Advantage: experience in training/teaching lab users
