Cyber Security Engineer

Mertens – MalamTeam is hiring a Cyber Defense Specialist for a leading financial organization

Role Overview:

A hands-on, highly impactful role responsible for guiding secure architecture, supporting complex projects, and strengthening the organization’s cyber resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead security methodologies and secure architecture across business and technological systems.
• Support and guide infrastructure and application projects from an information security perspective.
• Provide technical security solutions and handle issues requiring security expertise.
• Manage cyber risks and conduct technological assessments to improve the organization’s security posture.
• Lead risk assessments, penetration test reviews, and mitigation processes.
• Collaborate daily with development teams, infrastructure teams, business units, and external vendors.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting infrastructure and application projects in an Information Security team.
• Strong knowledge of modern cyber risks and practical implementation of advanced security solutions.
• Deep understanding of security architecture for on-prem and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with leading security products and standard cyber methodologies.
• Experience in the financial sector – an advantage.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP or SICM – an advantage.
