Head of Software

One of our clients, a fast-growing Israeli startup operating at the intersection of Semiconductors and AI Acceleration, is looking to hire a Head of Software. The company develops advanced software platforms and SDKs that enable the efficient deployment of AI models on DSPs, NPUs, and embedded processors. Their technology is widely adopted across industries such as Consumer Electronics, Automotive, and IoT, empowering customers to integrate cutting-edge AI capabilities into their products with high performance, low power consumption, and real-time operation.

Position Overview

This is a senior leadership position within the company’s management team. The role involves taking ownership of the software group, which currently numbers around 20 engineers and is expected to scale to 40 in the coming years. The position requires a strong combination of people leadership, software architecture ownership, and direct collaboration with international customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a growing software group, including team leaders and senior engineers.
• Define and own the software architecture, covering embedded runtimes, SDKs, and developer tools.
• Drive the development of SDKs and libraries supporting Deep Learning and Computer Vision models.
• Collaborate with hardware and algorithm teams to deliver end-to-end AI acceleration solutions.
• Work directly with global customers to ensure seamless integration and adoption of the company’s technology.
• Recruit, mentor, and scale a high-performing software organization in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (advanced degrees are an advantage).
• 7+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years managing multi-disciplinary software groups in Semiconductors, Embedded Systems, or AI domains.
• Hands-on expertise in one or more of the following:
• Deep Learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, ONNX).
• SDKs (TensorRT, OpenVINO).
• HPC frameworks (CUDA, OpenCL, SYCL).
• Proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams (15+ engineers).
• Experience working with international customers in Consumer Electronics or Automotive.

Nice to Have

• Background in Embedded software optimization and real-time systems.
• Knowledge in Signal Processing (DSP) and Computer Vision.
• Expertise in performance optimization: vectorization, parallelization, and memory planning.
• Familiarity with heterogeneous architectures (CPU/DSP/NPU).
• Experience with compiler technologies and model optimization frameworks (LLVM, MLIR, XLA, TVM).CUS
