Head of Artificial Intelligence

One of our clients, an innovative company based in Tel Aviv, is looking to hire an Algorithms Manager to lead their Perception & Navigation team. The company is developing autonomous, AI-powered robotic platforms that enhance safety, reduce operational costs, and provide real-time analytics through advanced robotics, computer vision, and cloud integration.

About the Role:

As the Algorithms Manager, you will spearhead the technical strategy, architecture, and development of state-of-the-art algorithms that drive robotic perception, localization, and navigation. This role is perfect for a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in Deep Learning and sensor fusion (e.g., cameras, IMUs, LiDAR), particularly on edge devices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of Algorithms and Computer Vision Engineers.
• Develop and execute the technical roadmap focused on perception, localization, SLAM, and navigation.
• Architect and implement advanced sensor fusion algorithms for reliable state estimation.
• Optimize algorithms (e.g., quantization, pruning) for deployment on edge devices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Hardware, Embedded, Cloud) for seamless integration.
• Transition solutions from research to production-ready code.
• Stay current with academic and industrial advances in AI, robotics, and perception.

Requirements:

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related.
• 7+ years in algorithm development, focused on computer vision, deep learning, and sensor fusion.
• 3+ years in a leadership or senior technical role.
• Experience deploying optimized algorithms on edge hardware.
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
• Hands-on with SLAM, Visual Odometry, or Localization.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with ROS/ROS2.
• Familiarity with deployment tools like TensorRT or OpenVINO.
• Background in safety-critical systems (e.g., ISO, IEC standards).
• Track record of bringing R&D solutions into commercial products.
