Avionics Systems Engineer for Precision-Guided Munitions

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join the MBT Missiles Division at Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), to lead avionics system development for advanced munitions programs. This is a high-impact role working on cutting-edge multi-disciplinary defense technologies.

What you’ll do

• Analyze operational and environmental system requirements
• Define system architecture and avionics performance for guided munitions
• Design the system-level concept and integration strategy
• Incorporate AI and advanced image processing capabilities into avionics systems
• Define test strategy and lead system verification and validation plans
• Write and manage system-level specifications and requirements
• Lead the engineering aspects of avionics and electronics development across multiple munition platforms
• Guide internal engineering teams and oversee subcontractor development phases
• Support system integration and field testing activities
• Address safety logic and reliability engineering aspects

What we’re looking for

• B.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering or Electrical Engineering – required
• M.Sc. in Systems Engineering – an advantage
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in developing avionics or electronic systems – required
• Previous experience with large-scale weapon system development (Systems-of-Systems) – strong advantage
• Strong command of English (written and spoken) – required
• Willingness to travel abroad occasionally
