📍 Location: 9330 Zionsville Road, Indianapolis, IN

⏳ Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)

💵 Pay Rate: $47/hr

🕒 Schedule: Onsite | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Monday–Friday

🚀 Start Date: ASAP (Preferably Before Holiday Break)

🔧 Position Overview

BCforward is seeking a CAD Technician to support drafting and design activities for a large, state-of-the-art research facility. This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who enjoy translating technical information into clear and accurate drawings that support engineering, construction, and facility operations.

You will collaborate closely with scientists, engineers, project managers, contractors, and facility teams to create and maintain drawings that guide equipment installation, facility upgrades, and project execution.

🛠 Key Responsibilities

• Provide CAD drafting and design support for facility projects.
• Use AutoCAD / Civil 3D to update drawings, incorporate markups, and prepare final construction documents.
• Perform drafting services in accordance with company standards.
• Assist with field measurements and gathering project data.
• Update and maintain online drawing directories and physical files.
• Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to ensure design accuracy.
• Incorporate as-built documentation into facility drawings.
• Interpret building systems and infrastructure layouts for capital improvements.
• Support implementation of internal specifications and design standards.
• Ensure all designs align with Corteva EHS&S safety standards.

✔ Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of engineering design or CAD drafting experience in R&D, industrial, or facility settings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and related CAD drafting tools.
• Familiarity with civil/site and infrastructure design.
• Ability to interpret technical vendor documents.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and speed.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or on a team.

⭐ Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of infrastructure systems (site utilities, security, environmental systems, greenhouses, research labs, etc.)
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Maximo/eMaint).
• Knowledge of P&IDs, electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and equipment drawings.
• Experience supporting R&D facilities or complex equipment environments.
• Safety certifications preferred.
• Strong problem-solving ability and motivation to learn new technologies.

🎓 Education

• Two-year diploma in Design/Drafting with CAD specialization
• OR equivalent experience.
