STAND 8 is looking for a IT Refresh Technician to support our global media client in maintaining a modern, efficient, and user-friendly computing environment. In this role, you'll be part of a team that ensures employees have reliable, secure, and fully functional laptops to keep their creativity and productivity flowing. This project is located in the greater Los Angeles area (Hollywood adjacent) and must be worked onsite 5 days / week.
Responsibilities
- Perform hardware refreshes, including imaging, configuring, testing, and deploying laptops and desktops for end users.
- Ensure user profiles, data, and applications are properly migrated to refreshed devices.
- Track and manage IT assets accurately in ServiceNow or similar inventory systems.
- Set up and prepare new laptops for deployment, ensuring hardware and software readiness.
- Add new machines to Active Directory and verify that users have proper permissions and access.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service to users during refreshes and equipment handoffs.
- Assist in collecting and processing end-of-life equipment, ensuring proper data security and disposal.
- Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues as needed, escalating complex issues when appropriate.
- Work closely with the depot and support teams to ensure timely delivery and minimize user downtime.
- Maintain detailed records and communicate progress or challenges clearly with team leads and management.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1-2 years of IT support, hardware deployment, or related technical experience.
- Working knowledge of Windows 10/11 and macOS operating systems.
- Basic understanding of Active Directory (adding machines, user permissions).
- Experience imaging or setting up laptops in an enterprise environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills; comfortable working with users at all levels.
- Familiarity with Office 365 and basic user setup/support.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), Intune/Autopilot, or JAMF Pro.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow IT Asset Management or similar tools.
- Knowledge of Dell hardware and encryption tools like BitLocker or FileVault.
- Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, shell) or experience automating deployment processes.
- Exposure to cloud-based or zero-touch deployment technologies.

Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $28 - $30 / per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
