Position
The Marketing Manager is accountable for managing the artist brand across all touch points with the goal of building fan engagement and strong brand presence to lead to growth and conversion for the [PIAS] Group (“the Group”) America.
Reporting
The Marketing Manager reports directly to Head of Marketing of [PIAS] America who is based in Los Angeles, America.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with A&R, Label Partners, the International team and Artist Management, define, design and manage key marketing initiatives that further the overall strategic vision of the artist.
- Conduct and communicate in-depth competitive analysis of landscape trends using data insights and strong business acumen to impact top-line KPIs.
- Lead all aspects of overall artist development across teams (Product, Publicity, Radio, Trade/Sales, Digital Marketing, etc.) to ensure project momentum is maximized and marketing plans are fully and successfully executed.
- Oversee the delivery and the rollout of all assets for designated artist campaigns.
- Create, build and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners (brands, lifestyle accounts, media, influencers).
- Using analytics including DSP & social metrics, continually re-evaluate project and campaign momentum, identifying tent poles and long term goals that guide team efforts.
- Responsible for creating marketing campaigns and value-added initiatives that support the release strategy and momentum.
- Communicate KPIs to internal and external stakeholders and adjust plans accordingly.
- Manage multiple budgets for each project to ensure the project remains financially feasible; Conduct retrospectives on marketing initiatives to measure effectiveness such as artist growth across applicable social and retail platforms and overall current and long term profitability.
- Act as primary communication liaison between artist/manager and label staff for each project.
- Identify roadblocks and challenges with each project and engage appropriate internal staff, in particular assigned A&R representatives, to assist in proactively managing issues.
- Mentor and coach more junior marketing team members.
Skills Required
- An in-depth understanding of the North American music industry.
- Experience strategizing and executing multiple marketing campaigns at once.
- Experience in managing people and collaborating across multiple departments and empowering those through digital and creative ideas.
- Advanced level artist relations experience in a consumer-focused 3+ years’ experience in music industry marketing.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, must have the ability to write and convey marketing strategies to the teams within the label, as well as to the management and the artist, bringing concepts to life.
- Deep knowledge of all streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Tidal, etc.
- Deep understanding of Digital Advertising strategies, including platform analytics (Spotify, YouTube, Google, and Meta Analytics). Experience with creating, editing, and distributing content across social media platforms with understanding of platform-specific best practices and content formats is a plus.
- Experience with Luminate, 3rd party streaming analytics services, Smartlink tools.
- Proficient in modern music marketing techniques including influencer/creator marketing, content strategy, platform optimization & fan community building.
- Must be tech-savvy with a deep understanding of current & forthcoming technologies and general market trends.
- Candidates should be creative, innovative, detail-oriented, and resourceful. Must be able to prioritize, multi-task, and deal with high volume situations.
