What You’ll Do:

Sunbit is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Compliance & Legal Squad.

This team plays a critical role in ensuring that Sunbit’s systems operate in full compliance with financial regulations while empowering our Legal department with modern, data-driven tools.

You’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining systems that monitor compliance, automate regulatory processes, and support critical legal workflows — all at large scale.

This role involves designing and building robust backend and data-oriented systems in a distributed microservices environment, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of backend systems that ensure regulatory compliance and legal process automation.
• Build scalable, reliable, and secure microservices that oversee large amount of financial transactions.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and engineering teams to deliver accurate, high-quality data solutions.
• Drive modernization efforts, including significant refactoring and migration to a modern, distributed architecture.
• Work with large datasets and ensure data integrity across critical financial systems.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code aligned with best practices.
  
  

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in backend or data-focused software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases (MySQL required).
• Hands-on experience with Kotlin or Java in production environments.
• Python – an advantage.
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Experience with Snowflake, Spark, or DBT – an advantage.
• Background in fintech, compliance, or other highly regulated environments – a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and system design skills.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
