(Interim) Expert - vehicle construction

Our Client

Our Client is a major international industrial group operating large-scale metal production facilities across Europe. Due to urgent operational challenges related to material transport within the plant, the company is seeking an Expert in Vehicle Construction to provide immediate technical support.

The issue concerns a newly replaced forklift fleet at one of the Client’s key sites. Custom-built add-on equipment, mounted internally by the plant team, has led to stability problems during the transport of heavy slag containers—resulting in vehicle oscillation and reduced operational usability. The Client requires rapid technical assessment and professional engineering recommendations.

• Conduct an in-depth technical assessment of modified forklifts, including construction, attachments, and load dynamics

• Perform stability and vehicle statics analysis to identify the root cause of oscillation during operation

• Evaluate the design and structural impact of the add-on equipment installed by the plant

• Provide engineering recommendations for corrective measures, redesign, or required reinforcements

• Ensure compliance of proposed solutions with relevant safety standards and operational requirements

• Advise the site team on safe handling, load distribution, and optimal configuration of equipment

• Deliver a concise engineering report with findings and actionable next steps

• Provide ad-hoc consultation to support plant operations and restore full usability of the fleet

• Proven experience in vehicle construction, industrial machinery engineering, or forklift engineering

• Deep understanding of vehicle statics, stability, load dynamics, and structural behavior

• Experience with industrial forklifts, heavy attachments, or custom vehicle adaptations

• Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to identify root causes quickly

• Experience in heavy industry or metallurgical environments is highly beneficial

• Ability to work on-site and engage with technical teams

• Fluent German or English
