We are looking for an experienced COBOL developer to join our core business systems team. The role involves developing and maintaining complex, business-critical systems in a COBOL/UNIX environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain core business systems in the long-term savings area.
- Take ownership of end-to-end (E2E) software development — from design and coding to testing and implementation.
- Translate business requirements into technological solutions, participate in systems analysis and design, and prepare detailed technical specifications.
- Collaborate closely with diverse teams, including project managers, system analysts, and business users.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in COBOL development within a UNIX environment.
- Experience with SQL and Oracle DB, including the ability to write complex SQL queries.
- Strong business understanding of the Life Insurance and Long-Term Savings domains.
- Significant advantage: proficiency in C Shell and UNIX scripting.
- Experience in technical analysis, documentation, and troubleshooting of system issues.
- Ability to learn independently, work under pressure, and think systemically.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Industrial Engineering & Management (Information Systems specialization) from a recognized institution, or completion of advanced courses in information systems.
