A well-established insurance provider serving businesses, homeowners, and vehicle owners is seeking a Nearshore Lead to oversee its engineering team in Spain. This hands-on leadership role combines technical ownership, operational excellence, and people management within a complex “Enhance & Operate” (E&O) data program.

The Nearshore Lead will guide a team of skilled data engineers in delivering high-quality, reliable, and scalable data solutions. Acting as the primary technical and operational escalation point, this person ensures SLA compliance, enforces best engineering practices, and drives continuous improvement. The role involves daily workload management, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative team culture. Close cooperation with teams in Mexico and the US, proactive communication with the Delivery Director, and participation in governance meetings are essential to ensuring smooth delivery and long-term team performance.

Must-have:

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or software development.
• 3+ years in a leadership role (Team Lead, Tech Lead, or Engineering Manager).
• Proven experience managing a technical team in a service-oriented / managed operations (E&O) environment.
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change) and SLA management.
• Expert hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Deep experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SQL for complex transformations.
• Proficiency in ServiceNow (ITSM) and Azure DevOps (SDLC).
• Familiarity with CI/CD principles and tools (Azure Pipelines).
• Experience leading teams in Agile/Scrum environments.

Nice to have:

• Experience in global, multi-vendor environments.
• Knowledge of Control-M or similar enterprise schedulers.
• Prior consulting background (e.g., Deloitte, PwC, Accenture).
• Spanish language skills (a plus, not mandatory).
