DevOps Team Lead

About the Role

As DevOps Team Lead, you will spearhead the evolution and optimization of our infrastructure to meet the accelerating demands of a rapidly growing Web3 ecosystem.

You’ll lead a talented team in scaling, automating, and securing our deployments across a diverse stack — ensuring high availability, low latency, and strong operational resilience. This is a pivotal opportunity to shape the future of our infrastructure and play a defining role in MagmaDevs’s continued growth and expansion.

• Infrastructure Scaling:
• Architect, scale, and optimize our Google Cloud Kubernetes clusters and hybrid environments (managed + on-prem) to handle growing network and API workloads.
• Automation & Deployment:
• Design and implement advanced CI/CD and automation pipelines, enhancing efficiency and reliability across our deployment process.
• Monitoring & Reliability:
• Build robust monitoring and alerting systems using Prometheus and Grafana, ensuring visibility, performance, and a minimum 99.9% uptime SLA.
• Security & High Availability:
• Implement best-in-class security standards, redundancy, and failover mechanisms to maintain operational excellence across all services.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Partner with blockchain, backend, and product teams to remove bottlenecks, enhance developer velocity, and streamline workflows.
• Leadership & Mentorship:
• Guide the DevOps team in adopting modern practices, fostering innovation, and maintaining a culture of technical excellence and accountability.

• Cloud Infrastructure Expertise:
• Deep, hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes, managing both managed and on-prem environments.
• DevOps & Automation Mastery:
• Strong background in scripting, automation, and configuration management. Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools.
• Scalability & Performance:
• Proven ability to architect and scale infrastructure for high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• Problem-Solving Mindset:
• Ability to diagnose complex production issues and implement scalable, long-term solutions.
• Blockchain Awareness:
• Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure or decentralized networks is a strong plus. Passion for emerging technologies and open-source ecosystems.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate across engineering, product, and operations teams.

• 3+ years of engineering management experience, leading high-performing DevOps or infrastructure teams.
• 5+ years of hands-on DevOps experience, implementing and optimizing modern DevOps practices.
• Extensive experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Minimum 3 years of production Kubernetes experience, including:
• Use of Helm for package management
• Integration of open-source Kubernetes ecosystem tools
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) — particularly Terraform.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash.
