GK8 is seeking an experienced Automation Team Lead

GK8 is seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer & Team Leader to lead and scale our automation efforts.

In this role, you’ll combine hands-on technical expertise with leadership and mentoring responsibilities, playing a key part in designing, building, and maintaining our testing infrastructure for GK8’s highly secure digital asset platform.

You’ll drive the automation strategy, lead our automation engineers team, and guide the integration of AI-based solutions into our test development processes, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and innovation across our testing lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and guide a team of automation engineers, fostering technical excellence and collaboration
• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests across backend and frontend systems
• Define and implement the overall automation strategy, frameworks, and tools
• Write and review test plans based on product requirements and system architecture.
• Drive the integration of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT-based agents) into the automation process for intelligent test generation and optimization
• Perform and oversee manual testing where automation is not yet in place
• Own the full testing lifecycle — from design, implementation, and execution to reporting and analysis
• Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to monitor testing coverage, quality, and progress
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring stability and reliability of releases
• Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams to align testing strategies with release goals
• Participate in security, performance, and regression testing as needed
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for testing practices, tooling, and infrastructure

Requirements:

• Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field – advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in automation engineering in complex systems
• 3+ years of experience leading or mentoring a small technical team
• Strong hands-on experience with Python — must
• Proven experience designing test frameworks and writing automated test cases — must
• Experience with Git and version control workflows — must
• Expertise with Selenium / Playwright for UI and API automation — must
• Experience working with AI agents (e.g., ChatGPT) and integrating AI into automation processes
• Solid understanding of Linux environments and CI/CD pipelines
• Background in fintech or cybersecurity — an advantage
• Strong analytical skills, ownership mindset, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide others

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering — advanced degree preferred
