Laboratory Engineer

Laboratory Engineer – School of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Ben-Gurion University of the Negev is seeking a Laboratory Engineer to join the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Sciences.

This role involves hands-on technical work, guidance of students and faculty, and supporting research and teaching laboratories in the field of communications engineering.

Main Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate experimental systems and laboratory equipment in communication laboratories.
• Provide technical assistance and instruction to students, instructors, and faculty members.
• Support final projects and evaluate student performance.
• Manage procurement processes, maintain lab inventory, and handle budget tracking.
• Install and operate software and hardware systems for research and teaching needs.
• Ensure safety compliance and provide general technical support across the School.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences or Natural Sciences, preferably in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Communication Systems Engineering, or Computer Science.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in communication systems or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Matlab, or LabView.
• Practical experience with communication instrumentation and lab equipment.
• Experience in teaching, mentoring, or technical training – an advantage.
