Seeking a red cyber researcher that will new research techniques for deciphering and interception of malicious rf communication.
Key Responsibilities
- RE and weaknesses research of advanced wireless communication protocols, including data links, OFDM-based systems, and packet structures.
- Formulation of smart RF techniques for wireless communication disruptions.
- Design and evaluate communication modules for cutting edge short- and long-range systems.
- Analyze and optimize communication performance under various channel and interference conditions.
- Work with Wi-Fi and IEEE standards (802.11, 802.15.1) and integrate them into custom communication architectures.
- Simulate cellular system components (GSM, UMTS, LTE, and 5G) for research and prototype purposes.
- Investigate and address cybersecurity challenges in wireless systems, including encryption, authentication, and vulnerability analysis.
- Perform signal demodulation and decoding using RF front-end hardware and digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms.
- Utilize laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, software defined radios) for measurement, validation, and debugging of communication systems.
- Develop analysis and simulation tools in Python and MATLAB, and perform system integration under Linux environments.
- Document technical results, write research reports, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across hardware, software, and cybersecurity domains.
Required Qualifications
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Communication Systems, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of wireless communication principles, including modulation, coding, MIMO, and link adaptation.
- Experience with OFDM-based systems and cellular protocols (LTE, UMTS, GSM, or 5G NR).
- Knowledge of RF system design, DSP, and baseband algorithm development.
- Solid grounding in cybersecurity concepts as applied to communication links, including cryptography and secure protocol design.
- Hands-on experience with lab testing and RF measurements.
- Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, and Linux environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
