System Administrator

Mertens - MalamTeam is hiring an experienced System Administrator to join a leading enterprise organization in Southern Israel.

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled System Administrator to take full ownership of system infrastructure setup, maintenance, and optimization. This role involves end-to-end infrastructure deployment, system integration, and managing complex Microsoft-based environments, including Active Directory, Exchange, and VMware virtualization systems.

The position offers a hands-on opportunity to design and maintain critical enterprise systems while working closely with advanced technologies and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain system infrastructure from the ground up.
• Define and configure computing architecture and perform system integrations across complex environments.
• Manage and maintain Microsoft core infrastructure — including Active Directory, Exchange, and Windows servers.
• Manage VMware-based virtualization environments, ensuring stability and scalability.
• Administer and troubleshoot Windows operating systems (Windows Server 2012–2019) and client systems.
• Develop automation scripts and infrastructure processes to streamline operations.
• Provide user support and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Participate in maintenance windows, system upgrades, and planned downtimes.
• Collaborate with IT, security, and network teams to ensure seamless infrastructure operation.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience as a System Administrator in a large organization (200+ servers, hundreds of users)
• Proven experience managing VMware-based virtualization infrastructures — mandatory.
• Hands-on expertise across hardware, communication networks, Microsoft systems, and virtualization technologies
• Strong understanding of information security principles and familiarity with security and protection tools — advantage.
• Experience with storage systems from at least one major vendor (Hitachi, EMC, or NetApp) — advantage.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Microservices environments — advantage.
• Willingness to work overtime and during maintenance periods
