Role Overview

We are looking for a practical, hands-on Mechanical Engineer to develop and refine high-precision assembly processes for optical and mechanical components. The ideal candidate enjoys solving engineering challenges, building reliable processes, and working closely with R&D and production teams to bring advanced designs into real-world manufacturing.

What You Will Be Doing

• Develop and optimize precision opto-mechanical assembly processes
• Lead automation and tooling development (pick-and-place, dispensing, alignment)
• Design and validate jigs, fixtures, and assembly tools
• Support cleanroom assembly and equipment operation
• Work with epoxies and optical adhesives, including curing and inspection
• Investigate and solve assembly issues, improving yield and repeatability
• Help transition processes from prototype to production
• Collaborate with R&D, NPI, and manufacturing teams

What We Need to See

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years experience in mechanical assembly, automation, or process engineering
• Hands-on experience with precision assembly equipment (pick-and-place, dispensing, alignment systems)
• Strong mechanical problem-solving skills and a do-it-yourself, practical mindset
• Ability to bring engineering solutions into repeatable, scalable processes
• Strong communication and documentation skills in English

Ways to Stand Out

• Experience in opto-mechanical or photonics assembly
• Background in fiber-optic assemblies or micro-alignment processes
• Work in cleanroom or contamination-controlled environments
• Familiarity with ISO9001 / ISO10110
• Experience with automation scale-up or high-precision mechanical systems
