Your Team:

We’re searching for an Engineering Leader who’s ready to shape the future of our platform. This role goes beyond managing code - it’s about inspiring people, driving technical strategy, and ensuring our systems are fast, reliable, and built to scale. You’ll lead multiple teams of talented engineers, partner with stakeholders across the business, and make key decisions that directly impact millions of players worldwide.

The expectation and the requirement are for the person to relocate to Bulgaria after three months of working remotely.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Lead and scale multiple backend and full-stack teams, building a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation.
• Manage managers and senior engineers, guiding career growth and fostering ownership at every level.
• Drive technical vision and long-term strategy in sync with product, business, and platform roadmaps.
• Stay strategically hands-on through architecture reviews, design discussions, and key technical decisions.
• Oversee the delivery of high-throughput, event-driven, real-time systems.
• Define milestones, manage dependencies, and ensure execution across multiple delivery streams.
• Champion engineering best practices in DevOps, architecture, security, and observability.
• Partner closely with Product, QA, DevOps, Data, and Security to deliver end-to-end excellence.
• Ensure performance, fault tolerance, compliance, and security standards are met at scale.
• Act as a change agent, improving engineering velocity, quality, and developer experience.

Tech stack You`ll touch:

• Languages & Frameworks: PHP 8.1/8.2+, Laravel, Node.js, Nest.js, Vue.js
• Messaging & Architecture: Kafka, RabbitMQ, event-driven systems, real-time sockets
• Databases & Caching: MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Memcached
• Infrastructure & Observability: Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform/Pulumi, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, OpenTelemetry/Jaeger
• Tooling & DevOps: Git, microservices, CI/CD pipelines

Who You Are:

• 8+ years of backend or full-stack engineering, with 2–4+ years leading multiple teams and/or managers.
• Proven experience building and scaling high-availability, distributed systems in demanding industries (iGaming, fintech, SaaS, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of event-driven architectures and system design.
• Familiarity with modern PHP/Node.js stacks and database performance optimization (MySQL, MongoDB).
• Strategic thinker who can set and execute technical vision across diverse teams.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills - able to inspire engineers, align with executives, and drive results.
• Experience managing cross-functional groups (backend, frontend, DevOps, data) under one R&D umbrella.

Nice to have:

• Background in data aggregation/analytics pipelines and stream processing.
• MSSQL performance tuning know-how.
• Exposure to Python scripting, AI/ML integration, or automation in production.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and secure systems design (e.g., GDPR)
