DevOps Team Lead

About The Position

We are looking for a hands-on DevOps Team Lead to take full ownership of our infrastructure, DevOps practices, and automation pipelines.

In this role, you will serve as the technical and operational lead of a growing DevOps team, driving reliability, scalability, and security across our cloud environments. You’ll balance leadership and mentoring responsibilities with hands-on design, implementation, and optimization of infrastructure and processes.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, mentor, and grow the DevOps team.
• Define and enforce DevOps best practices across infrastructure, CI/CD, and security.
• Manage and evolve large-scale Linux infrastructure with complex connectivity and security requirements.
• Design, manage, and optimize AWS environments (VPC, IAM, Networking, RDS, EKS, etc.).
• Operate and scale Kubernetes/EKS clusters, including Helm charts, operators, and custom resources.
• Implement namespace policies, quotas, and resource allocations.
• Drive initiatives in security, compliance, and cost optimization.
• Maintain and enhance GitLab CI/CD pipelines for diverse workloads (Lambda, EKS, EC2, etc.).
• Integrate testing, linting, and vulnerability scans into CI/CD workflows.
• Build reusable pipeline components for microservices.
• Own monitoring and alerting strategies with tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, and OpenTelemetry.
• Manage PostgreSQL in production (RDS, Aurora) including tuning, replication, backup/restore.
• Lead observability improvements, including migration from Fluentd to OpenTelemetry.
• Architect and deploy serverless solutions (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway).
• Integrate event-driven services (SNS/SQS, Kinesis, RDS Proxy).
• Manage IAM roles/policies, secrets, and overall security posture.
  
  

• 5+ years of hands-on DevOps experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role.
• Strong production experience with AWS services (VPC, RDS, EKS, IAM, Lambda).
• Proven expertise operating Kubernetes/EKS clusters at scale.
• Proficiency with Terraform (or similar IaC tools) and CI/CD platforms (GitLab preferred).
• Solid Linux systems administration background, ideally across large distributed fleets.
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL in production environments (performance tuning, replication, backup/restore).
• Hands-on experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry).
• Experience designing and maintaining secure, compliant environments (SOC2/ISO27001 knowledge is a plus).
  
  

• Shape the technical direction and build a growing DevOps team from the ground up.
• Take end-to-end ownership of the DevOps function, from infrastructure to processes.
