Engineering Manager, Platform Engineering

We’re looking for an impact-driven, experienced software engineering manager to lead our Platform Engineering in the Backend areas.

As a Backend Platform Engineering manager, you will be leading a tight-knit and dynamic team of experienced engineers that takes pride in high coding standards and modern development practices

The team takes their talent and experience and transform it into the standard of Melio’s backend engineering area, affecting coding excellence, From Service creation to Production monitoring

As a leader in the Platform Engineering group, you will be responsible for serving other engineers here at Melio, by providing them with wider solution of internal services, packages and tools.

The team continually improving the DevX (Developer experience) of more than 200 engineers and setting high bar of coding standards, helping the product engineering team to focus on their business oriented tasks while using the Platform Engineering solutions

This position requires an experienced team leader that achieved success in their previous roles as a technical leader, that wants to add a deeper challenge, impacting other engineers besides their own team.

Minimum Qualifications To Apply For This Role

• 7+ years of professional experience as a software engineer with backend development
• 2+ years experience leading a team of engineers.
• Deep understanding of production systems and the architecture of web products
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred but not a must)
• Proactive team player with a desire to impact other engineering teams
• Independent, resourceful, and creative
  
  

Preferred qualifications (If you have those, we see it as an advantage, but it's not a must)

• Experience with NodeJS/ Type script
• Working in Serverless environment
• Working closely with Devops engineers
  
  

How your day is going to look, what you will be doing?

• Lead a team of 6 backend engineers while doing hands-on technical work
• Look for ideas of improvement of DevX
• Responsible for internal services in production - with continuous improvements
• Set goals, define tasks, and manage timelines to execute a roadmap. The team has dedicated technical product manager, and together you plan the team’s roadmap
• Work closely with other Engineering Managers, Tech leaders and Architects, to adopt your team solutions
