Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Via, you’ll join our R&D center in TLV. You’ll be part of a team of developers and devops engineers, directly contributing to our product by using cutting-edge technologies. You’ll take a critical part in our mission to shape the future of transportation, affecting tens of thousands of riders daily worldwide.

The Platform Group is a cross-functional group dedicated to building and maintaining the robust foundation on which Via operates. This team is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD systems, and tools that empower our development and production environments.

With a focus on enhancing developer experience, operational efficiency, and reliability, the team drives initiatives that:

• Design and implement scalable and secure cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain Kubernetes clusters and related tools, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Manage edge gateways, WAF solutions, and other critical infrastructure components.
• Define and enforce CI/CD standards to streamline development and delivery workflows
• Build tools and automation to enhance productivity across engineering teams.
• Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of production infrastructure.
  
  

What You’ll Do:

• Define infrastructure standards for dev teams
• Design, implement and develop tools for controlling infrastructure of micro services
• Build CI/CD automation and templates with GitLab
• Build, maintain and operate AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure
• Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the applications and architecture at Via
• Work in contact with other teams across the company to ensure smooth and documented changes to all environments
• Identify and resolve problems in mission-critical services, automating remediation procedures to prevent recurrences
• Bring ideas to the table, take ownership over their project timelines and deliverables and help us scale
  
  

Who You Are:

• BSc. Computer Science or similar.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend or full-stack development in a product development team. Object oriented programming programming experience is required.
• 3+ years experience as Devops/SRE in a production environment
• 2+ years experience with containers, Kubernetes, Helm, Argo CD
• 2+ years experience with AWS or GCP/Azure
• 1+ years experience with CICD - GitLab/Jenkins/Github actions/etc.
• Experience with networking, distributed systems, SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration
• Fluent in English language
• Advantage - Experienced with declarative IaC tools like Terraform, Cloudformation or Pulumi
