Algorithm Engineer

A startup in the AI space working on complex problems with diverse types of data, focusing on research across multiple domains related to the energy market. The goal is to analyze how energy is traded using AI tools.

The company is based in Tel Aviv (near the train line), offers a hybrid work model, and has dozens of employees. It is well-funded, successful, and has paying customers.

Role overview:

• Join the Core team, focusing on Research-to-Production work with a strong research emphasis (70% of the time). The role involves:
• Working on mathematical models and graphs.
• Developing Machine Learning and Deep Learning models.
• Handling diverse data types, including weather, trading, physical simulations, power grid flow, tabular data, economic simulations, energy, and climate data.
• Applying theoretical ML, time series analysis, and classical algorithms.
• Translating research insights into production-ready solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing ML models and algorithms in Python/Java.
• Optimizing and improving electricity markets in the U.S., ensuring energy generation matches demand.
• Working with large-scale distributed pipelines.
• Performing Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Information Theory, Probability, Optimization, and Signal Processing.
• Translating research insights into production-ready solutions.

Requirements:

• MSc or a PhD in EE/CS/math/Physics/Stats
• Solid data science research experience of at least 3 years in a data-intensive field (machine learning, NLP, computer vision, signal processing or related)- an advantage
• Deep understanding of at least one of the following domains: machine learning, statistics, information theory, probability, optimization, or signal processing
• Strong knowledge in programming (python, java)
• Rack record of excellence
