Backend team leader

A unicorn cybersecurity startup developing a next-generation security platform for critical infrastructure is looking for a Team Lead to join its growing R&D organization.

The company is well-funded, employs hundreds of people, and is experiencing rapid growth.

The offices are located in Tel Aviv, within walking distance of a train station, and the company works in a hybrid model with two days a week from home.

Role Overview-

• Leading a team of 7 engineers
• Reporting directly to a Group Manager
• Combination of people management and technical leadership
• 50% hands-on development
• Building and scaling high-performance, mission-critical systems
• Working in a large-scale, production-grade environment
• Development mainly in Python
• Strong focus on system design, scalability, performance, and reliability
• High-impact role in a cutting-edge cybersecurity product
• Combines deep technical work with leadership responsibility

Requirements-

• 3 years of a proven track record in leading R&D teams (Must)
• 5 years of a strong track record in backend/full-stack development (Must)
• Proven ability to build and scale large-scale applications in Python (Must)
• Familiarity with Angular or React (Advantage)
• Strong expertise in both architecture and implementation of high-scale systems
• Experience in Cybersecurity, Linux, and Networking (Advantage)
• Experience with on-premises systems (Advantage)
• Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication, and a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities
