An Israeli company specializing in the development and manufacturing of sonar and underwater acoustic sensing systems is seeking a Systems Engineer.

The role includes:

  • Leading the systems engineering process for advanced sonar systems, underwater sensors, and acoustic processing systems
  • Analyzing operational requirements and translating them into detailed technical specifications (system requirements / system specification)
  • Defining system architecture, allocating subsystems, and managing multidisciplinary interfaces (mechanics, electronics, software, communications, DSP)
  • Planning and overseeing integration and verification processes (IV&V), including sea trials and field tests
  • Conducting performance analyses in underwater acoustics, detection ranges, SNR, signal processing, and target tracking
  • Collaborating with customers, subcontractors, and internal engineering teams
  • Managing configuration, leading system investigations, and performing failure analyses

Requirements-

  • B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Aeronautics, or Systems Engineering
  • 7 years of R&D experience, including at least 3 years as a Systems Engineer – preferably in sonar, radar, or advanced sensing
  • Strong background or understanding of underwater acoustics, signal processing, or real-time systems – advantage
  • Proven experience in writing and managing system documents (SRS, ICD, CONOPS)
  • Excellent analytical and systems-thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills and full proficiency in English (spoken and written)
  • Willingness to participate in field and sea trials as part of system verification activities
