Front-End Team Leader (AdTech)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Front-End Team Leader with a strong background in AdTech and video player development to lead a growing team of engineers.

This role blends hands-on front-end expertise with leadership, architecture ownership, and deep technical understanding of web-based advertising environments, video rendering, and player integrations.

You will be responsible for guiding front-end development across complex, performance-driven applications used in large-scale AdTech ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Execution

Lead, mentor, and coach a team of front-end developers, ensuring high-quality delivery and professional growth.

Define front-end architecture, coding standards, and best practices across the organization.

Oversee development cycles, sprint execution, technical planning, and code reviews.

Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and clean, maintainable engineering.

Front-End Development

Develop advanced web features using Vanilla JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue.js, and React.

Build reusable UI components and scalable front-end infrastructure for AdTech environments.

Execute complex debugging, performance tuning, and profiling using Chrome Developer Tools.

AdTech & Video Player Development

Lead the development and optimization of video players, including custom features, ad rendering, VAST/VPAID compliance, and playback logic.

Work on integrations with SSPs, DSPs, ad servers, and measurement/verification partners.

Ensure seamless support for video ad formats, tracking events, and viewability standards.

Optimize player performance, latency, buffering, and user experience across browsers and devices.

API & Integration

Collaborate with backend and product teams to integrate RESTful APIs, analytics, and reporting pipelines.

Handle asynchronous data flows and state management across complex systems.

Ensure robust communication between the video player, UI, and backend services.

Quality, Performance & Optimization

Own the full front-end lifecycle, from design and development to deployment and monitoring.

Ensure highly performant front-end experiences optimized for speed, stability, and ad delivery accuracy.

Build tools, workflows, and automation that improve development velocity and reliability.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on front-end development experience.

Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), Vanilla JS, TypeScript, and at least one major framework (Vue.js or React, ideally both).

Proven experience developing video players, media components, or working with video streaming technologies.

Hands-on AdTech experience: familiarity with VAST/VPAID, ad-serving logic, tracking, and rendering workflows.

Strong understanding of browser rendering, performance tuning, and Chrome DevTools.

Experience with API integrations, asynchronous data handling, and scalable front-end architectures.

Previous leadership or mentoring experience — ability to guide, motivate, and manage a team.

Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.

Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to design clean, scalable front-end solutions.

Nice to Have

Experience with video streaming protocols (HLS, DASH).

Knowledge of programmatic advertising environments and measurement providers.

Familiarity with build systems (Webpack, Vite, Rollup) and CI/CD pipelines.

Experience in highly scaled, real-time applications.
