Your Role And Responsibilities

IBM Systems in Israel is seeking a highly motivated M.Sc. student in Electrical Engineering to join our Physical Design team in Givatayim. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the physical implementation of IBM’s next-generation CPUs, developed using our most advanced silicon technologies.

Role Overview

As a student engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for the physical design of digital blocks, from RTL to final implementation. You will work with advanced tools and flows, including synthesis and place-and-route, and collaborate closely with logic designers and global teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the physical design of digital blocks from RTL to RIT (Ready for Integration and Test)
• Perform synthesis and timing analysis to ensure design quality and performance
• Collaborate with logic design teams to resolve design and implementation challenges
• Contribute to the development and optimization of design flows and methodologies
  
  

• Current student in Electrical Engineering (M.Sc. preferred, B.Sc. 3rd year also considered)
• Strong understanding of digital design fundamentals and VLSI concepts
• Self-motivated, independent, and able to work effectively in a team environment
• Fluent in Hebrew and English
  
  

• Experience with scripting languages (Shell, Perl, TCL, Python)
• Exposure to RTL coding (Verilog/VHDL)
• Knowledge of processor architecture
• Familiarity with deep submicron technologies and device physics
• Coursework in digital circuit design, RTL design, or custom design
