Entry level position.
The Communications Associate helps deliver the communications strategy, materials and initiatives which amplify our research and promote our policy work to key audiences.
Reports to Director of Global Strategy and Communications.
**The key responsibilities and duties of the role are listed below. However, this is not an exhaustive list. Periodically, other tasks will be assigned which are outside the scope of these core areas of work.
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Produce written materials, including but not limited to newsletters and further strategic content.
- Edit and proof-read research reports to ensure standards of language. Contribute to executive summaries and introductions of reports as needed.
- Oversee, maintain and develop social media accounts, including producing written copy and visual content such as images and video.
- Create and develop PowerPoint presentations, annual reports and other key documents for a variety of purposes as needed.
- Produce website copy and execute routine website updates and additions, including uploading reports, articles and associated material.
- Contribute towards overall website development, working alongside external web developers and designers who will execute changes.
- Contribute towards the development and execution of communications plans to promote the organization’s reports, research, and relevant initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent command of English at a native level, with strong writing and editing capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience in producing written communications materials, including newsletters, website content and social media copy.
- Proven ability to edit and proofread research reports to a high professional standard.
- Experience managing social media accounts and creating engaging written and visual content.
- Strong skills in preparing presentations, reports and other key documents.
- Experience working with website content management systems and carrying out routine updates.
- Ability to translate research findings into clear, accessible messaging for diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with AI-based tools that support content creation, editing or workflow optimization.
- Academic background in Communications, Journalism, International Relations, Political Science, Marketing or a related field.
- Experience within NGOs or in fields such as policy, education, research or human rights.
- Experience collaborating with external designers, web developers or other service providers.
- Working knowledge of design tools such as Canva; proficiency in Adobe Suite is an advantage.
- Familiarity with analytics platforms, such as Google Analytics or social media insights dashboards.
