An established non-profit organization dedicated to advancing agriculture in Southern Israel through applied scientific research, innovation, and sustainable practices is seeking a highly motivated Applied Research Scientist (PhD) to join its R&D team.

🌱 About the Role

We are looking for a researcher with:

• A PhD in a scientific discipline (life sciences, agronomy, plant sciences, biology, chemistry, environmental sciences, or similar).
• Industry experience in research & development.
• A practical affinity for agriculture—hands-on understanding of agricultural processes, challenges, and field applications.
• Curiosity, independence, and the ability to translate scientific findings into real-world agricultural innovation.

The exact research direction is flexible, as long as it meaningfully contributes to advancing agriculture in Israel. Areas may include (but are not limited to): crop improvement, plant health, soil & water, climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, ag-biotech, biological solutions, environmental monitoring, and more.

💼 Responsibilities

• Design and lead applied research projects that support agricultural innovation.
• Conduct experiments, analyze data, and translate insights into actionable solutions for growers.
• Collaborate with farmers, academic partners, industry stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Prepare research reports, presentations, and publications.
• Support the organization’s mission of strengthening Southern Israel’s agricultural ecosystem.

🎓 Requirements

• PhD in a relevant scientific field.
• Proven R&D experience in industry (must).
• Practical experience or strong familiarity with agricultural environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
