Senior Data Engineer

A Tel Aviv–based FinTech startup transforming the way companies manage their financial operations is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and development of the data infrastructure behind our next-generation platform. This is a high-impact, hands-on position where you will shape scalable data systems, enhance key integrations, and ensure real-time insights and intelligent automation in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time ingestion, forming the backbone of our data ecosystem.
• Design and improve integrations with external financial systems, including major banks, ERP platforms, and payment processors.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions that create meaningful user impact.
• Promote best practices around data quality, testing, monitoring, and performance to ensure a reliable and efficient data platform.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of proven experience in Python development and strong SQL skills for advanced data modeling and query optimization.
• Extensive background in real-time and batch ingestion methods, API integrations, and secure authentication protocols.
• Proficiency with modern ETL/ELT tools and orchestration frameworks such as Meltano, Airflow, and dbt.
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and streaming technologies (e.g., Pub/Sub, Kafka).
• Strong analytical mindset with enthusiasm for turning raw data into actionable insights.
• Passion for leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to enhance development workflows and drive innovation.
