Role Description – Junior AI Engineer (Applied Machine Learning & Data Fusion)

This is a full-time, on-site role in Tel Aviv-Yafo, joining our rapidly growing AI division. As a Junior AI Engineer, you’ll help develop AI-powered capabilities across our platform from pattern recognition and NLP to real-time data fusion and operator-assist modules.

You will work closely with senior AI engineers, data engineers, and backend teams to bring models from experimentation into production. This is an incredible opportunity for early-career engineers who want hands-on experience building real-world AI systems that make a measurable impact in mission-critical environments.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and integrate machine learning models (NLP, pattern recognition, data fusion).
• Design, train, and optimize neural networks and ML pipelines.
• Work with large-scale, real-time data to detect patterns and generate insights.
• Improve AI-driven features within the Octopus command-and-control platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (backend, data, DevOps).
• Participate in research, prototyping, and deploying models in production.

Qualifications

Experience (1–2 years):

• Background in software engineering or data science (internship or professional).
• Hands-on experience with Python and ML/AI frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.

Core Skills:

• Understanding of neural networks, pattern recognition, and ML fundamentals.
• Strong grasp of data processing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
• Familiarity with APIs, microservices, or cloud environments (Docker, FastAPI) a plus.
• Exposure to NLP, LLMs, RAG, or vector databases (Pinecone, Milvus, Weaviate) is a huge advantage.
• Knowledge of data analysis tools and software development best practices.
