About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SMSF (Self-Managed Super Fund) Accountant with proven experience in handling Australian or international SMSF compliance and accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of superannuation legislation, ATO regulations, and financial reporting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review SMSF financial statements, tax returns, and audit workpapers.
Ensure compliance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act (SIS) regulations.
Reconcile investment portfolios, member balances, contributions, pensions, and tax components.
Prepare BAS, TBAR, and annual returns for SMSF clients.
Manage client communications regarding SMSF queries, tax strategies, and fund performance.
Liaise with auditors and ensure all supporting documentation is accurate and complete.
Stay up to date with changes in superannuation law, taxation, and accounting standards.
Use accounting software such as Class Super, BGL 360, Xero, or MYOB to maintain fund records.
Key Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
Minimum 2–5 years’ experience working with SMSF accounting — Australian or overseas exposure preferred.
Strong knowledge of superannuation regulations, ATO compliance, and fund administration.
Proficiency in SMSF accounting software (Class, BGL, Xero, etc.).
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

CPA / CA / IPA qualification (completed or in progress).
Experience working in an Australian public accounting firm or offshore SMSF processing team.
Familiarity with financial planning or tax advisory environments.
