Research Associate (Arabic) at IMPACT-se

About the position:

IMPACT-se, a research and policy institute specializing in the study of textbooks in the

Middle East and worldwide, is recruiting an Arabic Research associate with native-level

English proficiency for a full-time position. This role involves fascinating policy-research work

analyzing textbooks across the Arab-Muslim world. Preference will be given to graduates of

translation units. The position requires completing a translation and analysis task from a

textbook.

Candidate requirements:

• Mandatory: Native-level English proficiency (writing and expression).
• Mandatory: Advanced Arabic proficiency, with a focus on text analysis, reading comprehension, translation, and distinguishing main ideas from secondary details.
• Mandatory: A degree in related field.
• Background, knowledge, familiarity, and experience with the Middle East, Islamic culture, the Palestinian arena, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Israel-Arab relations, and international relations.
• Experience in writing intelligence or research reports.
• Background and experience in OSINT – an advantage.
• Graduate of translation departments in Unit 8200 – an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork ability, strong time management skills, high self-confidence, energy, and initiative.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
