Experimental Physicist – Optomechanics

Remondo is expanding and looking for a talented Experimental Physicist with strong hands-on experience in optics and opto-mechanics to join our growing R&D team.

Remondo develops next-generation space-grade imaging systems, combining advanced optics, precision mechanics, real-time control, and computational methods. We work at the intersection of theory and experiment, turning ambitious ideas into working hardware.

What Will You Do?

• Plan, execute, and analyze experiments in advanced optics labs
• Design and build optical and optomechanical setups end-to-end
• Perform literature reviews and targeted theoretical research
• Innovate solutions for real-world challenges
• Model, test, and characterize optomechanical modules and their limitations (theory + experiment)
• Develop simulations and analysis tools (Python) to guide system design
• Contribute to the development of space-grade imaging systems, from concept through validation

Requirements

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. (preferred) in Physics or a related field
• Proven hands-on experience in building and operating optical setups
• 2+ years of industry experience in R&D or product development
• Strong experimental intuition and ability to move quickly from idea to implementation
• Proven ability to conduct advanced research: literature review, rapid POCs, troubleshooting, and fast iteration cycles
• Advantage: experience in one or more of the following: Space systems / Imaging systems / Optical or physical simulations
