The Head of Global Corporate Development drives ADAMA’s strategic agenda through proactive leadership of mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, divestments and strategic initiatives on a worldwide scale. This leader designs and executes an integrated M&A strategy aligned with the company’s transformation journey, manages a global team, and orchestrates high-impact deal execution. There is a unique opportunity to lead a world-class M&A function, while closely collaborating with the Syngenta Group M&A team (ADAMA's parent company), positioning the company as a front-runner in its industry’s next chapter.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, lead, and implement the global corporate development strategy, focusing on M&A, joint ventures, divestments and strategic initiatives.
- Accountable for all phases of the M&A process, including opportunity identification, screening, due diligence, valuation analysis, deal structure design, negotiation, and transaction execution.
- Lead internal business unit valuations and scenario modeling to advise investment decisions and capital deployment.
- Effectively lead colleagues from core functions such as Commercial, Operations, R&D, Legal, Finance, Tax and others in corporate development projects, while ensuring alignment and engagement.
- Lead and mentor a lean high-performing, globally distributed team of 3 corporate development professionals, setting goals and priorities, driving performance, and ensuring continuous skills and career development.
- Oversee multidisciplinary internal and external teams throughout project execution.
- Partner closely with the Syngenta Group M&A team (ADAMA's parent company) to share best practices, build synergies, and enhance the company’s global growth strategy.
- Advise senior leadership and the board on potential transactions, strategic rationale, deal structure, risks, and value creation opportunities.
- Foster relationships with financial institutions, advisors, and industry leaders to build a robust deal pipeline and maximize long-term growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in corporate development, M&A, investment banking, strategy, or related disciplines with international exposure.
- Demonstrated success in leading multi-jurisdictional M&A transactions and joint ventures, including integration and post-close transformation.
- Exceptional skills in financial modeling, business valuation, and strategic scenario planning.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and project management abilities; proven capability to drive performance in a global context and manage cross functional teams of internal and external stakeholders across cultures.
- Solid grasp of deal structuring, risk analysis, and regulatory issues in complex corporate transactions.
- Ability to review and negotiate complex transaction agreements and amendments.
- Effective communicator and influencer, able to present recommendations to senior executives and external partners with confidence and clarity.
- Experience working or partnering with international teams, such as the Syngenta Group, is a significant advantage.
