About the Role

We’re looking for a Freelance IT Engineer (50%) to join our team and take full ownership of the company’s IT infrastructure — from setting up secure networks and managing equipment to supporting our growing R&D operations.

This is a part-time freelance position (approximately 50%), offering flexibility, autonomy, and meaningful impact.

You’ll be working closely with our core technical team to build and maintain a reliable, secure, and scalable IT environment from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

• Set up, configure, and maintain company networks, including device connectivity and configuration.
• Build and maintain secure, organized infrastructure and manage the server room.
• Prepare and configure new computers for onboarding employees, tailored to role requirements.
• Establish dedicated networks for development, testing, and internal labs.
• Manage all company IT assets — computers, components, servers, and networking equipment.
• Maintain and operate organizational cloud environments (e.g., AWS / Azure), including VPNs, network setup, and secure access.
• Document systems, configurations, and internal procedures for operational continuity.
• Provide ongoing technical support to employees across hardware, software, and connectivity.
• Ensure information security at user, network, and server access levels — including permissions, monitoring, and alerts.
• Implement and maintain virtualization solutions (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Collaborate closely with the development team to support build and test processes.
• Lead the setup and management of IT systems from scratch as the company evolves.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in organizational IT environments.
• Deep knowledge of networking, communication protocols, and infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of computer hardware.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.).
• Strong understanding of information security and secure infrastructure.
• Advantage: experience building IT systems from scratch in startups or fast-growing companies.
• Availability for approximately 50% position (freelance).
