Application Production Support Engineer (L3, Java Applications)

Location: Poland

Work Model: Hybrid (1 day a week in the office at any Cognizant location)

We’re expanding our production support team to strengthen the stability and performance of large-scale Java microservices in the financial domain. About The Role

We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Application Production Support Engineer (L3) to maintain and support complex Java-based microservices. This role is critical to ensuring system continuity and performance in a dynamic fintech environment. You’ll collaborate closely with development and product teams to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement fixes or workarounds. While infrastructure management is not part of the role, familiarity with DevOps tools like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in Java microservices

Analyze JIRA tickets, perform root cause analysis, and apply fixes

Make minor code corrections or database updates (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, ElasticSearch)

Collaborate with Development and Product teams to ensure long-term system stability

Document incident analysis, fixes, and escalation paths clearly

Participate in regular maintenance and monitoring activities

Tech Stack

Backend: Java, Spring Boot, Microservices

Messaging: Kafka

Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, ElasticSearch

Tools (nice to have): Docker, Kubernetes

Workflow: JIRA, Confluence, Git

A methodical problem solver who thrives on restoring system stability

Comfortable reading and lightly modifying Java code

Prefer structured work hours (9–17) over reactive firefighting

Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across teams
