Role Description

We are seeking a creative and passionate Microbiology Researcher with proven experience in food, environmental and/or soil microbiome research to help take our technology to the next level. This long-term role offers exciting growth opportunities, combining chemistry and microbiology to create impactful, sustainable solutions. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead the design and execution of microbiological and post-harvest studies related to LiVA’s prebiotic formulations, focusing on quality preservation, shelf-life extension, and microbial community dynamics. 
• Stay current with relevant scientific literature, technologies, and methodologies, and integrate them into the R&D workflows. 
• Collaborate closely with the chemistry team to combine microbiological insights with formulation development. 
• Analyze data and present findings through clear technical reports and presentations. 
• Supervise and mentor junior researchers and lab technicians. 
• Develop, implement and maintain SOPs, WIs and lab safety protocols. 

Qualifications & Requirements: 

• PhD in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Science or a related field – a must. 
• 1–3 years hands-on research experience in microbiology; industry experience is a strong advantage. 
• Proven expertise in microbial ecology, food microbiology, environmental or soil microbiomes, including experience with anaerobic microorganisms – a must. 
• Experience with NGS-based microbiome analysis – a strong advantage. 
• Ability to independently design, execute, and interpret experiments. 
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a dynamic environment. 
• Excellent communication skills.
