🌍 About the Role

Palo Alto Networks is seeking an Email Security Research Analyst to join the Email Security Research Team in Tel Aviv.

The team develops advanced detection logic to counter sophisticated email-based threats. This role reports to the Manager of Email Security Research and offers an opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing global cybersecurity leader.

🎯 Your Impact

In this position, you will:

• Perform data labeling to support AI-driven analysis of emerging email threats.

• Maintain and enhance research infrastructure (automation, tooling, data pipelines).

• Investigate and resolve customer issues related to email-borne threats and detection gaps.

• Conduct proactive threat hunting to identify and analyze real-world attack campaigns.

• Design and develop innovative detection signatures to stop threats at the earliest stages.

🧠 Your Experience & Qualifications

Education / Background

• Bachelor’s degree in progress or completed (Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field), or 1+ year of relevant experience (security research, data analysis, threat detection).

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and security research tools.

• Familiarity with BigQuery or other SQL-style platforms.

• Experience in SOC, security research, analysis, or penetration testing is an advantage.

Security Expertise (Bonus Points)

• Exposure to investigating, detecting, or responding to complex cyberattacks.

Soft Skills

• Strong attention to detail with a proactive, can-do mindset (must).

• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and manage multiple priorities.

• Proven ability to collaborate with internal and outsourced high-performing teams.
