System Engineer (Robotics)

Their technology leverages advanced robotics, computer vision, and cloud-based analytics to improve safety, reduce costs, and reinvent the way buildings are maintained and monitored.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Robotics System Engineer & Researcher - A Maker at heart – a multidisciplinary innovator who thrives on turning ideas into reality. This role goes beyond traditional engineering: it requires someone who can explore new domains, combine knowledge across robotics, algorithms, hardware, and software, and independently (or with external partners) transform concepts into working Proofs of Concept (POCs).

As a Robotics System Engineer & Researcher, you will bridge imagination and execution – investigating emerging technologies, rapidly building prototypes, and driving innovation from the first sketch to a functional demo. You will work hand in hand with the VP of R&D and the CTO, serving as both a strategic partner and a hands-on builder at the core of the company's innovation pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the CTO & VP R&D’s decision-making partner while driving multidisciplinary research and development initiatives.
• Explore, design, and build – independently take ideas from whiteboard to tangible POCs, leveraging both in-house and external resources.
• Serve as a system engineer, defining, designing, and integrating complex robotic subsystems.
• Collaborate with algorithm, robotics, software, and hardware teams to ensure seamless system integration.
• Research and implement algorithms in areas such as control, SLAM, and sensor fusion.
• Lead investigations into new domains (sensors, communication modules, autonomy, AI/ML) and assess their applicability to the company’s platforms.
• Support product roadmap definition through system-level insights and hands-on prototyping.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
• 7+ years of experience in multidisciplinary system development (Robotics / Defense / Automotive / Aerospace).
• Strong background in system engineering – requirements definition, system design, integration, validation.
• Knowledge of algorithms in control, robotics, SLAM, computer vision, or sensor fusion.
• Track record as a hands-on Maker – building prototypes, demos, or lab systems that evolved into products or influenced technology direction.
• Experience with sensors (LiDAR, cameras, IMU, GPS) and robotic perception. an advantage
• Familiarity in programming (Python / C++ / MATLAB).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
