We are looking for a highly skilled C++ / Qt Developer to join a cutting-edge project developing advanced simulation and visualization tools for laser and photonics systems.
The role combines scientific computing, real-time visualization, and modern GUI development to create a professional software platform for optical simulations.
You will design and implement the application’s core modules, graphical interface, and computational workflow, working closely with optical engineers and physicists.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop desktop applications for laser and optics simulation using C++ and Qt (Qt5/Qt6).
- Implement scientific visualization and data analysis interfaces (2D/3D field maps, wave propagation, intensity distributions).
- Integrate numerical solvers (FDTD / FEM / BPM) and manage data flow between computational core and GUI.
- Optimize performance and memory usage for complex physical simulations.
- Collaborate with physics and algorithm teams to translate models into robust, user-friendly tools.
- Maintain clean, modular code architecture (CMake, Git, CI/CD).
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in C++ software development.
- Proven experience with Qt (Widgets, QML, Signals/Slots, multi-threading).
- Experience in scientific or engineering software development (simulation, visualization, modeling).
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software architecture.
- Working knowledge of OpenGL / VTK / GPU acceleration – an advantage.
- Familiarity with optics, photonics, or electromagnetic simulation – a strong plus.
- Experience with Python bindings (PyBind11 / Boost.Python) – a plus.
- B.Sc. or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.
Nice to Have
- Experience with tools like MEEP, COMSOL, Lumerical, Zemax, or similar.
- Knowledge of numerical methods (FDTD, FEM, RCWA).
- Background in photonics R&D or scientific instrumentation.
- Familiarity with GPU computing (CUDA/OpenCL).
