Electronic Assembly Technologist (SMD)

A leading defense company specializing in the development and production of multidisciplinary RF assemblies for both military and civilian applications is seeking an Electronic Assembly Technologist (SMD).

Responsibilities

• Work closely with R&D engineers and support product transfer from development to mass production.
• Investigate failures during production processes and implement corrective actions and lessons learned across the organization.
• Provide technical support to SMT subcontractors and resolve real-time production issues.
• Define engineering procedures and manufacturing work processes.
• Demonstrate in-depth understanding of chemical materials used in production processes (adhesives, solder pastes, cleaning solutions, etc.).
• Apply knowledge in DFM, soldering techniques, and SMT assembly processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments, subcontractors, suppliers, and company customers.
• Define and characterize technological requirements for the company.
• Assess, qualify, and implement dedicated production equipment and tools on manufacturing lines.
• Initiate and lead improvement projects focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Familiarity with IPC standards.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in relevant hi-tech industries such as electronic assemblies/SMT manufacturing.
• Good command of English.
• Proactive, highly motivated, and hands-on approach.
