General Laborer

Sheba Medical Center – Israel’s largest and leading medical institution, affiliated with Tel Aviv University – is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Cytogenetics Unit at the Hematology Laboratory.

About the Role:

This position involves working with patient samples and performing complex cytogenetic tests — including Karyotyping, FISH, and Optical Genome Mapping — from the initial processing stage to final reporting.

The role combines hands-on laboratory work, microscopy, operation of advanced diagnostic instruments, and use of various software tools.

You will be required to engage with professional literature to interpret findings and contribute to the development of new testing methods. The work is highly collaborative and involves close interaction with physicians and professional teams within Sheba and external medical centers.

Comprehensive training will be provided by our experienced team.

Requirements:

• · Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or Biotechnology – Required
• · Certification as an Academic Medical Laboratory Scientist (or eligibility for internship/externship) – Required
• · Previous experience in a medical laboratory – Strong advantage
• · Experience in genetics, cytogenetics, or hematology – Strong advantage
• · Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
• · Willingness for long-term employment
