System Engineer

⚙️ System Engineer – Underwater Sonar & Acoustic Systems | Defense Industry | Israel

We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced System Engineer to join our Underwater Sonar and Acoustic Sensing Systems team.

This is an opportunity to take full ownership of complex multidisciplinary systems — from concept and design to integration, testing, and delivery — and be part of shaping the next generation of underwater acoustic technologies. 🌊

💼 What You’ll Do

• Lead the system engineering process for advanced sonar, underwater sensors, and acoustic processing systems
• Analyze operational requirements and translate them into detailed system specifications (SRS, ICD, CONOPS)
• Define system architecture, allocate subsystems, and manage interdisciplinary interfaces (mechanical, electrical, software, communications, DSP)
• Plan and supervise integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) processes, including sea trials and field testing
• Conduct system performance analyses in underwater acoustics, detection range, SNR, and target tracking
• Collaborate closely with customers, subcontractors, and internal R&D teams
• Manage configuration control, system investigations, and failure analyses

🎯 What We’re Looking For

• B.Sc. in Electrical, Electronics, Physics, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering (M.Sc. – advantage)
• 7+ years of R&D experience, including 3+ years as a System Engineer – preferably in sonar, radar, or advanced sensing domains
• Knowledge or background in underwater acoustics, signal processing, or real-time systems – advantage
• Proven experience writing and managing system documents (SRS, ICD, CONOPS)
• Strong analytical and system-level thinking skills
• Excellent communication skills and full proficiency in English
• Willingness to participate in field and sea tests as part of system validation activities
